Summary
Guangcai Li is an associate researcher at APM, CAS. He obtained his Ph.D. in Geodesy and Engineering Surveying from Wuhan University in 2021. His research interests lie in the theory and methods of GNSS high-precision positioning, with a particular focus on mass-market/Android GNSS and its applications. He is dedicated to resolving the issues surrounding mass-market GNSS ambiguity resolution, multipath mitigation and multi-sensor fusion, with the aim of facilitating the democratisation of GNSS high-precision positioning. He has published over 40 papers with over 870 citations on Google Scholar and an h-index of 16. Some of his research achievements have been applied to engineering applications such as smartphone navigation positioning, cadastral surveying, and geoscience research. He is currently leading a National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Youth Fund project, two sub-projects of the NSFC International Cooperation and Exchange Program, and three provincial-level projects. In 2022, he was selected for the Hubei Provincial Postdoctoral Innovation Research Program. His awards include the ION GNSS+ 2020 Student Paper Award, the 2025 Shaanxi Higher Education Institutions Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award (First Prize), and the 2025 Satellite Navigation and Positioning Science and Technology Progress Award (First Prize). He has been appointed as the Chair of the "Mass-market high-precision GNSS and applications" Working Group and a member of the "Smartphone and Low-cost GNSS" Working Group by the International Association of Geodesy (IAG). Additionally, he serves as a young editor for Satellite Navigation and a reviewer for various international journals.
